Mack’s Mets – Mack gives the Mets an “F” for their fourth round draft pick – San Diego State OF Cory (son of Greg) Vaughn.

Mankato Free Press – A short profile on Mets 12th-round pick – Minnesota State RHP Bret Mitchell. Mitchell set the school’s strikeout record this season (108 in 94 innings), while compiling a 10-4 record with a 4.31 ERA. According to MSU coach Matt Magers, Mitchell’s curve is his strikeout pitch and he will have to develop a changeup and slider.

Baseball Digest – Robert M. Pimpsner points out that the Mets were focused on drafting college players this year. Out of their first 30 selections, the Mets drafted 27 college players, including 17 college pitchers.
