5 Hates for July 1-6
Five things I hated this past week …
1. Cynthia Rodriguez’s T-shirt.
Was she trying to get back at A-Rod, the Yankee fans, or the New York media? Or does she think that’s good fashion sense? Just loving the fact that she wore that crap with her two-year-old in tow.
2. Julio Franco not hustling out the 9th-inning grounder booted by Chase Utley.
If his knee is so sore he has to kill rallies and embarrass himself, maybe it’s time to go on the DL. It’s not like the Mets will miss his slow bat off the bench — and he can still suit up and fulfill his role as “good clubhouse guy”. (60-day DL would be ideal)
3. Todd Helton’s beard.
What is that? a bobcat on his chin? Is he trying to fit in with the mountain goats? Does that thing get searched in airline security? Has the US Border Control checked it for illegal aliens? Will he need to apply for a small game hunting license before he can shave it off?
4. Thin air, Coors Light, humidors, “Rocky Mountain Way”,
… and anything else that reminds me of those three games in Colorado.
5. Guillermo Mota’s pitching line on Tuesday.

Well, at least he didn’t walk anyone.

I still can’t decide whether or not A-Rod’s wife is genuine-MILF material. I mean, of course, highlights/definitely not fat/chica latina — but to me, she falls into the obvious “Two-face” category. Sometimes, very good looking….while very regular at other times.
Hell, who am I kidding?
(And I won’t even hesitate to bring this up, considering she’s sitting there with an “Eff You” tank-top on. How angry do you think she is, lately….*insert cat noise*)
I’m really liking the size of her pocketbook after she kicks A-Rod out of the apartment.
I’ll say….
Maybe she’s threatened to sleep with the entire Yankee team – plus Joe Torre and the batboy – if she ever catches Stray-Rod cheating?
That might explain his poor play, and his recent “hamstring injury”….he’s gotta be dealing with in-house issues again. (Kidding.)
What IS up with Helton’s chin — he looks like he should be auditioning for the Country Bear Jamoree at Disney.
OMG — the Disney Jamboree ! That’s EXACTLY where he needs to go with that silly bush face!
What the heck was Omar Minaya thinking when he signed Guillermo Mota?
I don’t think signing Mota was a bad move, considering the dearth of quality middle relievers available.
Mota was shellshocked by Colorado, and his performance is directly tied to his confidence — which unfortunately is hitched to a rollercoaster. I think that if Mota can get a couple good outings under his belt, and regain his swagger, he can be a decent setup main. His velocity is there, his changeup can be nasty (though not at high altitudes), and his balls have good movement. It’s all a matter of working with his two-cent head.

Well, I’m not sure I agree with me either … it could be wishful thinking getting in the way of sanity. After all, what options do we have, other than hope Mota and/or Heilman start pitching well again? It’s not like Scott Linebrink is available, and I doubt we’d send some top prospects to Texas for Otsuka / Gagne (and not even sure either of those guys would help either).
Who knows, maybe Marcos Carvajal will wake up one morning and find his command, and pull an ’06 Mota.
i know you don’t want to hear this, but i kind of almost “like” A-Rod now, since he
seems to have a real-human wife, who isn’t a perfect playboy bunny, botox spa, diamond watch
everything, fake-smile woman. the media has consistently printed pictures of her that
are unflattering. and they have tried to stir up trouble with her marriage on a regular
basis, making it look to the world like her husband is out cheating on her all the time,
which is really none of their business.
the t-shirt was definitely for the media, “take a picture of this” guys.
knowing what it feels like to have women wiping themselves all over your man
with their silicone cleavage busting out, while you’re busting it taking care of children
and the bills, and the house(s),i can say i am all out on cynthia’s side this week.
and helton’s goatee thing, you are all right on with that one. it’s gross.
Archeress … I’m confused … you almost like A-Rod but you’re on Cynthia’s side? I’m not sure that’s allowed … what happens when they split up, which one will you be inviting to your cocktail parties?

when they split up, i won’t like A-Rod anymore, since i can barely stand him now.
he only gets a few tiny points in my book for having a wife who isn’t miss perfect.
maybe that guy youklis and helton together can start up the bear family jamboree thing
