		<description>Freddy would still eat a spot on the 40-man until at least spring training. I'm pretty sure you can start DL'ing guys in March, but not positive.

Either way, I'd rather have Garcia than Colon. I think he has a better chance of offering something valuable at the end of '08 and in 
'09. I get the feeling that Colon will have major surgery within months after signing with someone.</description>

1. Health: I really dont know the medical status on either, but would Bartolo be ready to start the season? Freddy would not. But would he pitch this year at all?. 

2. Roster: Freddy would be on the 60 day DL to start the season anyway. Bartolo might be ready and REQUIRE guarantees. El Duque/pelfrey/Humber/Mulvey would be the competition for a slot in the rotation to start with. 

3. I am intrigued as to why Omar has those slots open.</description>
