Thanks, Joe. Maybe source for another post can be found here...

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/2007/10/24/2007-10-24_mets_set_to_pass_on_rangers_rudy_jaramil-1.html

I certainly think HoJo is an adaquate hitting coach, but I think we all would hae liked to have seen him go to 3rd or 1st base coaching and have Rudy come aboard. The 2 questions raised by this development are:

1. Is Omar right in his rationale for not hiring Jamarillo because he and Randolph were both managerial candidates? Sounds like he's living too much in the past without any forward thinking. As an example, both Mattingly and Pena are on the Yankees coaching staff and are interviewing for the managerial job. If one or the other gets hired, does that mean the other one has to go?

2. Omar says the new 1st base coach will be someone from the Mets minor league system. Any predictions or desires?

This is an unrelated topic to the article, but I wanted to pose this question here instead of add it on to the end of our other conversation on the previous article.

All are welcome to answer this question, but in particular I'm looking to get the opinions of those among us who really keep track of this stuff. Discounting anyone who has played in triple-A or with the Mets (i.e. Milledge, Gomez, Humber, etc), who are your top-10 prospects within the Mets organization? When answering, could you also name the current major leaguer that most resembles the type of player you think the prospect will turn out to be?

Thanks in advance, guys (and gals?)
