The Mets may have caught a break this afternoon — scheduled Nationals starter Jordan Zimmerman has been scratched due to flu-like symptoms. In his stead will be Washington’s fourth starter Tanner Roark, who went 7-1 with a 1.51 ERA and 0.913 WHIP in his first 14 games and 53 innings in MLB last year.
Other good news for the Mets is that their everyday second baseman has returned from paternity leave and is batting second.
