Dillon Gee Starts Tonight – Maybe

According to MetsBlog, the Mets starting rotation has been reshuffled, with Dillon Gee starting tonight — if there is a ballgame.

If tonight’s game is played and there is a game tomorrow, Aaron Laffey will make the start. If both tonight’s and tomorrow’s games are played, Jeremy Hefner pitches on Wednesday, followed by Jon Niese on Thursday and Matt on Friday night at Citi Field against Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals.

If snow/rain/cold causes any games in Colorado to be canceled, this order may go out the window. I’d assume that Gee is starting the next game played by the Mets, unless their next game is Friday — in which case, my bet is it will be Niese going against Strasburg and Harvey on Saturday. That would be the best strategy in terms of ticket sales, anyway — Strasburg is a draw on his own, and Harvey has become a draw himself.

McHugh had one good start — against Colorado — last year. Just saying!
