By now you probably have heard that a urine sample taken from Ryan Braun contained unusually high levels of testosterone — enough that a second test was performed that indicated the testosterone in his system was synthetic; ergo, Braun technically tested positive for PEDs.
Nothing else positive can come from this news.

Before you get too attached to the Mets’ biggest position-player pickup of the offseason, you may want to brace yourself for the possibility that Andres Torres is non-tendered.
Given all the information available as of December 8th, 2011, I’m willing to declare that the Mets were right to let Jose Reyes, arguably their best homegrown superstar this side of Tom Seaver, leave for the Miami Marlins.
With or without Reyes, barring some epic miracle, the Mets will not be contenders in 2012. That much is certain.
