Today’s Mets Lineup vs. Braves

If the weather cooperates, this is the lineup the Mets will send to the plate against Braves pitcher Mike Minor:

Jose Reyes – SS
Justin Turner – 2B
David Wright – 3B
Scott Hairston – RF
Jason Bay – LF
Angel Pagan – CF
Ronny Paulino – C
Nick Evans – 1B
Dillon Gee – P

Note Nick Evans getting a start at 1B against the lefthander, and Slugging Scott Hairston filling the cleanup spot.

About Joe Janish

Joe Janish began MetsToday in 2005 to provide the unique perspective of a high-level player and coach -- he earned NCAA D-1 All-American honors as a catcher and coached several players who went on to play pro ball. Willie Harris — 2B
Justin “another error” Turner — SS

Welcome back, Nick Evans. Made an error. You are now truly a member of the club.

    • Joe says:

That’s Murphy, no Hairston at 2B.

      Oh vey.

      • Joe says:

        Okay. This is getting silly.

        • Joe says:

But, it is Gee and Parnell that give up the key runs and Pagan who in effect ends the game, Chipper yet again killing the team. Isn’t this out of Dante’s Inferno or something? It gets mighty repetitive.

Meanwhile, someone once contrasted this team with the Pirates, who gave their fans something to believe in. Note the past tense.
