About Joe Janish
Joe Janish began MetsToday in 2005 to provide the unique perspective of a high-level player and coach -- he earned NCAA D-1 All-American honors as a catcher and coached several players who went on to play pro ball. As a result his posts often include mechanical evaluations, scout-like analysis, and opinions that go beyond the numbers. Follow Joe's baseball tips on Twitter at

Because of where I live, the region, I have to watch Mets vs Nats, Reds and Braves contests on their networks with obviously there commentators. The angles they showed of the overturned call was absolutely conclusive. The Reds commentators, as soon as the first replay was shown, said immediately that the play would be overturned and it was obvious to anyone who saw the replay that it was in no doubt. The announcers never doubted the overturn or found any fault in the decision from the minute the first replay was shown.
