Mets Game Notes
Because of an evening work event, I missed the first 6 innings of the game, but saw the last 8. Though, if those first 6 were as tiring as the final 8, I’m not sure I “missed” much.
I don’t have much to say, as a result, because I was half-asleep when the winning run finally crossed the plate. I do remember being stunned that Ryan Howard wouldn’t bunt against the shift with men on first and second and none out in the 9th. And I remember Reid Brignac having the worst at-bat in baseball history in the 12th — I can’t believe he actually had the game-winning hit. Oh, and I remember Chris Young losing a ball in the sun, even though it was night time.
Post your frustrations in the comments.
Next Mets Game
Jacob deGrom faces Kyle Kendrick at 3:05 PM today.
I looked at Saturday’s line-up and I see that both Wright and Murphy are playing. When is TC going to learn that he has to be man enough to say to DW and Murph that they should get a day off. I know that the remaining line-up is weak, but the season is long and you can’t burn out your best players for the sake of one game. That’s the mistake Durocher made with the Cubs years ago to the benefit of the Mets.
Also MDD should get a start over Lagares on Sat. against the rhp.
