Game 121: Win

Mets 6 Rockies 3

Just a few days ago it seemed as though the Mets batters had gone away on vacation. It appears they have returned.

David Wright is the latest batsman to pull out of a slump, as he went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Carlos Beltran also continued his breakout, going 2-3 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. His partner in slump-breaking, Carlos Delgado, had one hit and two walks. It’s good to see Delgado taking walks again, rather than waving at poor pitches.

Steve Trachsel won again, and actually pitched a game worthy of a win. The vulcan went a surprising seven full innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks; he also struck out six in one of his strongest performances of the year.

As a result his posts often include mechanical evaluations, scout-like analysis, and opinions that go beyond the numbers.
