Niese left with a leg injury – is it his hamstring?
  2. JMan May 17, 2010 at 2:46 pm
Yes, Niese's injury is the same hammy he injured last season, but fortunately this does not seem as serious as last year. He walked off under his own strength and the broadcasters later said the training staff diagnosed a "strained hamstring which would be further evaluated once back in New York." Let's hope he can rest it for a few weeks and then get back out there to continue his development.

Enter text right here!A few comments about this season's Mets: they are not going to be contenders. The Phillies are too good and there are too many other mediocre to good teams in the NL that outclass this Mets' roster.

If I were the manager, and fortunately for Mets fans I am not, the following lineup would go out there:
#1 Reyes thank goodness they moved him back to leadoff as he's an awful #3 hitter. About 80% of his offensive value is as a base runner.
#2 Cora – from what I've seen a better hitter than Castillo and better in the field too
#3 Wright – still your best hitter even though he's struggling with the inside pitch and K’s. Moving him up in the order will get him more AB’s as he’s the cornerstone of your offense.
#4 Bay – hopefully he'll get hot and provide more pop and run productivity
#5 Ike Davis – develop this youngster into a future star
#6 Franceour – love his hustle, attitude, and glove and hopefully he can figure things out at the plate
#7 Angel Pagan – thus far he's the team's best player with consistency both at the plate and in the field. He could be the #3 hitter and shift everyone else down a slot
#8 Catcher – This position has been very productive especially Barajas. Hopefully they can keep it up.
