Quote of the Day: Jerry on Ollie’s New Role

“Are we down on Ollie?” Manuel said of Perez. “We just think Ollie needs to continue to get better, continue to find himself, try to get back to where he was. I think Ollie could be of value to us in the pen, a little bit more than what we have seen from Ollie lately as a starter.”

Oh, Jerry–ever the eternal optimist!! What? Did you expect him to throw Perez under the bus? I guess he could have, but a manager has to be politically correct in these situations or else he might open up a Pandora’s Box that can’t be taken back. And besides, we, the public, have (and will continue to) throw Perez under that Greyhound Bus enough for Jerry and the team!! 🙂 🙂
