Joe Janish began MetsToday in 2005 to provide the unique perspective of a high-level player and coach -- he earned NCAA D-1 All-American honors as a catcher and coached several players who went on to play pro ball. As a result his posts often include mechanical evaluations, scout-like analysis, and opinions that go beyond the numbers. However. Dont forget yourself. Your byline is that skill of disecting the in-game nuances, the pitch calling, the delivery..etc. ditto the managing strategy, line ups and in game calls.

      Thanks Mic.

Understand that when I write for ESPN, I’m more or less assigned topics by their editors. Ideally I’d be writing more from my strength, but that might not be of interest to the broader, national audience of ESPN. Which means all the best stuff will always be right here!
