Angel Pagan, Bobby Parnell Injury Updates

In case you haven’t heard, Angel Pagan had something of a setback in his bid to return from an oblique injury; he felt discomfort while playing in a rehab game in Port St. Lucie and has been shut down indefinitely. As long as Jason Pridie is hitting and fielding as well as he has lately, Pagan’s extended absence shouldn’t be too much of a concern.

In other injury-related news, Bobby Parnell will be pitching in an extended spring training game down in PSL and could be back as early as next week.

Pagan’s injury is unfortunate though the more time Pridie is here, the bigger chance he will stay. Parnell coming back is not something I look forward to since the guy for years was something of a tease. I still think Gee should start every five days, so if he gets sent down (or Young survives more than two starts), that would be okay.

Pagan was hitting sub .200 and had no place in the order. His best position is leadoff and that’s not open. As such pride might be better defensively and a good 4th ofer.

If/ when angel gets back I think Hairston goes and angel is 4th ofer based on experience in all ofer positions.
