Quick Mets Mad Libs

Ready to play “Mets Mad Libs”? OK, but it’s a quickie, so you can play and get right back to work.

“I don’t want *player name* to hit eighth. But unfortunately he’s not giving me much choice. We are getting to the point with him that’s it time for him to fish or cut bait. He’s either going to play his way in or play his way off the team.”

This was a quote from Colorado manager Jim Tracy spoken before Monday night’s ballgame. He was referring to his third baseman Ian Stewart. However, don’t let that get in the way of your fun. Go ahead and fill in the *player name* of your choice, and post in the comments.

Joe Janish began MetsToday in 2005 to provide the unique perspective of a high-level player and coach -- he earned NCAA D-1 All-American honors as a catcher and coached several players who went on to play pro ball. As a result his posts often include mechanical evaluations, scout-like analysis, and opinions that go beyond the numbers. For most games, I would say Josh Thole. HOWEVER, whenm Willie Harris plays I would fill in the blank with his name.

What about Jason Bay? Just a thought!

I was thinking along the lines of Bay, myself. Though, there are quite a few names worthy of this on the Met roster.

I’m hoping that “Walnutz15” is a name he considers sometime. I’d play for either the Rox or the Mets. . . .for league minimum.

    C’mon. . . why not? (*wink*)
