Blog Roundup: Post Beltran Era Edition

Carlos Beltran was officially traded to the Giants on Wednesday, and made his San Francisco debut on Thursday in Philadelphia.  Meanwhile, the Mets gutted out a sweep of the Reds in Cincinatti to move to a season-high 3 games over .500.

So, who are the players to be named later for K-Rod? If they aren’t picked, when will they be?

They haven’t been picked yet. The teams have 6 months to complete the trade. So the Mets have to pick before the 6 months are up.

Also, PTBNL rules stipulate that players can’t be traded to a team in the same league in which they were playing. This means that a player can go from the American League to the National League or any level of the minor leagues to any major league, but not from the NL to the NL. For this reason, the players the Mets will get will be Milwaukee minor leaguers.
