It’s the halfway point, folks, and the Mets are 7 games below .500, yet somehow only 6 games out of first place.

I listened to some of this game on the radio, then didn’t have the opportunity to watch it on DVR, so don’t have much comment, other than, it seems like every win the Mets from this point forward is one more day Terry Collins has a job. Losses by the Phillies don’t hurt either, and the 1973-like standings in the NL East certainly have something to do with Collins retaining his employment this far. I can’t see how the Mets avoid making a change if they fall to ten games below .500 prior to the All-Star Exhibition, which is two weeks away.
