The winter meetings began today, and by 10:30 am there was a rumor that the Mets, Cubs, and Rays were involved in a three-way deal that sent Pat Burrell to the Mets, Luis Castillo to the Cubs, and Milton Bradley to the Rays.
However, as of 12:25 PM EST, that deal is just that — a rumor. For now, anyway.
We’ll post news heard from Indy regarding the Mets here periodically. Meantime you can also check the new widget to the right, which shows the latest tweets of the top Mets beat writers and national journalists who are reporting from the winter meetings.
i’m tired of all the rumors. The mets are involved in every rumor. I’ve been listening to MLB and reading the trade rumors and everyother one is about the Mets. Edwin Jackson to Gil Meche and i bet we don’t get either. i think these rumors are started by the Wilpons just to show the Mets Fans they are “trying” to do something. i think it’s all BS and i’m a Mariners Fan in 2010! Ichiro rules!
Timo: You can take your bad Met fan attitude and go to Seattle right now. I’m sure there are blogs for the Ms that will allow you to complain about their rumors very nicely. Meanwhile, if you were indeed ever a Met fan you’d know how to suffer already. Bye bye.
PS: There are many things you can fault the Mets for, but someone posting rumors isn’t one of them.
well said harry..and why would anyone leave the mets for the mariners..the yankees or red sox i could understand.. the mariners??? plus, timo if u think things are bad now, what another 4 weeks.we’ll have 4 catchers in the starting line up and still be stuck with castillo
