Lackey to Red Sox?

It sounds like John Lackey will be signing with the Boston Red Sox. In addition, it appears that Jason Bay will NOT be returning to the Bosox, and may be leaning toward Seattle. Which, in turn, could mean that the Red Sox turn their attention to Matt Holliday — or perhaps settle for a less-expensive option (Mark DeRosa? Mike Cameron? Rick Ankiel?).

Where does this leave the Mets?

if boston is out of bay sweepstakes, don’t go a 5th year.. he’s running out of teams to get big money from..stay firm at 4 years..if seattle wants to give him five, they can have him..willingham or a similar player who is available (jermaine dye??) can put up similar numbers for a lot less money and we have to get starting pitching with the money we save
