Beltran – Marquee Player?

New York Mets Carlos Beltran belts a single

Now that everyone around him is hitting again, we may see Carlos Beltran go on a tear.

There’s an article at Flushing University questioning whether Beltran is a marquee player — or the type of guy who can carry a team all by himself.

I seem to recall that Beltran has four or five hits over his last two games. He’s starting to pick it up.

Yeah, going back to that, his average is up to .272, and he did damn near put one into CitiField last night.

BTW, Tom Glavine’s average is up to .333. Again, what’s his wife feeding him?

My timing is impeccable. Perhaps Beltran read the article and it has sparked him to hit?

    🙂

Yes, I’ve noticed Glavine’s hitting. It’s not necessarily his wife’s cooking, however. I imagine he’s having lunch and dinner with Ruben Gotay (when’s Gotay’s next start? August 10th?).
