In an effort to salvage one game of the series, here is the lineup the Mets will send to the plate against Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick:
Interestingly, Kyle Kendrick has been as universally despised among the Philadelphia fan base as Mike Pelfrey has been to Mets fans; something about unrealized expectations and crapping the bed at inopportune times (sound familiar?). In contrast to Pelfrey, however, Kendrick has pitched effectively of late, to the point that some of the “hataz” are beginning to accept Kendrick. Which is good news for Mike — there’s still a chance for him to improve and get people talking about “Big Pelf” again.
Nick Evans stays in the six-hole after two extra-base hits last night; let’s hope he stays hot.
