Mets Game 71: Loss to Phillies

Phillies 8 Mets 7

Mets nearly pull out another come-from-behind victory, but are foiled in the bottom of the ninth.

Mets Game Notes

So, I missed this game as well — all went well with the move, but things took a lot longer than expected. Believe it or not, the cable guy showed up an hour and a half EARLY (when has that ever happened in NYC?). Just one problem: I wasn’t there yet — was still packing the truck. In any case, by the time I got everything moved in, the TV set up, and settled, the game was long over. Figures — it sounded like a wild and exciting “barn burner.”

Please post your observations in the comments. Thanks.

Happy to hear it went well, as moving is a hard chore. I missed the ending due to work (lack of faith?) but the effort sure was good news. Glad to hear Wright say that there are no moral victories, which a warrior like himself should feel. It bothered me to hear Collins brag about how happy he was with the game. Proud? Ok. Happy? About what? Gee’s pitching? The Loss? I’ll save the rest. Enjoy the game today.
