Today’s Mets Lineup vs. Diamondbacks

Here is the lineup the Mets will send to the plate against Diamondbacks pitcher Jason Marquis:

Angel Pagan – CF
Justin Turner – 2B
David Wright – 3B
Lucas Duda – 1B
Jason Bay – LF
Josh Thole – C
Jason Pridie – RF
Ruben Tejada – SS
Chris Capuano – P

Justin Turner returns to the lineup after getting a much-needed rest. Jason Pridie also returns to the lineup for reasons that are unclear at this time. I guess Mike Baxter is more valuable as pinch-hitter than he is playing a full nine innings.

Tonight’s Mets Lineup vs. Diamondbacks

Here is the lineup the Mets will send to the plate against Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy. Kennedy is 14-3? How did that happen? I wonder if the Yankees wish they still had him rather than, say, Phil Hughes? Though, the guy they got in return — Curtis Granderson — is having an “OK” year.

But I digress. The lineup:

Angel Pagan – CF
Willie Harris – 2B
David Wright – 3B
Lucas Duda – 1B
Jason Bay – LF
Josh Thole – C
Jason Pridie – RF
Ruben Tejada – SS
Dillon Gee – P

Angel Pagan back in the leadoff spot after suffering back spasms. Jason Pridie gets a start in right field. I guess he and Mike Baxter will be part of a three-man platoon with Nick Evans?

Today’s Mets Lineup vs. Diamondbacks

Herewith the lineup the New York Mets will send to the plate to face Armando Galarraga of the Arizona Diamondbacks on Easter Sunday, 2011:

Jose Reyes – SS
Daniel Murphy – 2B
David Wright – 3B
Carlos Beltran – RF
Jason Bay – LF
Ike Davis – 1B
Josh Thole – C
Jason Pridie – CF
Jonathon Niese – LHP

Again, don’t mess with success. Can Ike hit another homer to make it four games in a row? If so he’ll be one game away from tying the team record held by Richard Hidalgo (!). Keep an eye on Niese’s arm angle; if he keeps his fingers on top at release, he’ll pitch a great ballgame.
