As mentioned last month, MetsBlog is now on the air, just like the blowhards on WFAN. OK, it’s a little different — for example, internet radio isn’t in your car (yet), but it’s a good development for the blogs and a great advancement for the fans, who now have a choice.
The choice for Mets coverage is now:
1. a two-team tandem consisting of a hyperactive rat terrier San Francisco Giant fan and a diehard Yankee fan who has trouble getting his words out in between bites of a six-foot sub
2. a diehard Yankee fan and Yankee announcer who claims not to be a Yankee fan
3. a diehard Yankee fan who thinks the National League is not the Major Leagues
4. the MetsBlog staff headed by the fair and balanced Matt Cerrone
It’s an easy decision, from this vantage point.
Matt’s been getting some great guests and putting together excellent shows, but he’s really hit the mother lode this week: his special guest is Mets General Manager Omar Minaya.
Be sure to tune in to the show at 6:30 PM tonight, or download it afterward and listen to it at your leisure.
Wow … where did that come from?
This site can’t afford to do “Ten Questions” this week, so following are nine for Joshua Taylor of the popular Twins blog,
After losing only one series over a period of one season and a quarter, the Mets have yet to win a series in June, and in fact have only three wins all month. Now they have the Minnesota Twins coming to town, a team that’s been struggling to stay above .500, but has won six out of their last 10 games. If the Mets thought Chien-Ming Wang, Brad Penny, or Brandon Webb were tough customer, wait till they get a load of Johan Santana on Tuesday.
