Today’s Mets Lineup vs. Brewers

Here is the lineup the Mets will send to the plate against Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo:

Angel Pagan – CF
Justin Turner – 2B
David Wright – 3B
Lucas Duda – 1B
Jason Bay – LF
Josh Thole – C
Jason Pridie – RF
Ruben Tejada – SS
R.A. Dickey – P

What to say … what to say … a win would be nice to prevent a sweep at home. I’m considering rooting for rain so the game gets washed out — is that bad?

Brewers 11 Mets 9

It was one of the most exhilarating and exciting comebacks of the year for the 2011 Mets.

And then it wasn’t.

In many ways, it was the defining moment of the season — for both the team and for Mets fans. Continue reading

Mets Game 124: Loss to Brewers

Brewers 6 Mets 1

Blog Roundup: Friday Edition

Hope you enjoyed your day off, Mets fans.  Now back to work!  Well, not really.

Blogging into the weekend:

  • First, a shout out to R.A. Dickey and Justin Turner for being so cool with the fans on Twitter.  If you’re not following them already, make sure you do (click on their names to access their twitter accounts).
  • Amazin Avenue goes through Jason Bay’s recent at bats with a fine-toothed comb to see if he’s really made any improvements.
  • Mets 360 wonders if it’s a good idea to add even MORE uniform combinations to the mix.  The Mets already have as many wardrobe changes as Lady Ga Ga.
  • Metstradamus ruminates about Mike Jacobs.
  • MetsBlog has Brandon Nimmo footage from his workout in Port St. Lucie.  No pressure, kid.
  • Minor League Ball profiles Mets’ farmhand Josh Satin.

Happy reading, and keep checking out Mets Today.

Mets 2011 End of Season Review

NOTE: This is a guest post by Joe Spector, who has concluded that the Mets season is, for all intents and purposes, over.

This has become an annual bad habit for us hasn’t it? It’s not even Labor Day and Met fans instinctively are talking about next year, something all too familiar the past 4 years. August and September baseball for Met fans – or as it’s become known as – The big yet not so surprising let down that you’ve been expecting all year long but didn’t quite want to admit it because you have faith, sort of, time of the season. Yeah that’s it. Ring a bell?

It has the same disheartening feeling you’d get as a child when Continue reading
